How he longs to stay in a warm bed, here, and amongst the sounds of people. Mr. Baggins, he knows better. The subtle jingle of the chain around his neck is enough to remind him that, no matter how quiet, how distant and blurred the will of the Ring might be, he cannot risk laying madness on these people. Even Sam, in his steadfast loyalty, and Galadriel, in her beauty and wisdom, had their minds drawn, even if just a little, by the ring. As kind as their faces and offers are, would they really be strong enough to keep their hands and minds stayed against its seduction?

There is no need to test these poor people with such a thing. It is his burden.

So Frodo has decided to settle himself in a camp of his making, outside of the village, but, he hopes, somewhere away from this beast that wanders the forest. Where? He does not know... but wandering is a part of Frodo's stretched-too-big world, now, so he will bear a bit of exploration.

He will be passing through the town with his large bag and a somber smile, a sprig of grass in his mouth and a pub song quiet in his throat. Though he might be hesitant, feel free to stop him to chat or ask what a small child is doing wandering around with no shoes on. ]

Would you happen to know an out of the way place to set up a camp?

Oh, are you going on a camping trip?

Well, for lack of better words, I will call it a camping trip that will last me a long while here. I will be camping, yes.

Camping is so much fun. [She's completely missing what Frodo is actually saying here.] Maybe you should try camping by the lake! It's very beautiful.

Through the book, I have been told the lake is quite nice. As I said there, the water is what worries me. Should I find good dwelling nearby without being too close, I may just stake myself there as I've had suggested to me.

That would be very nice. Then I could come visit you!

I wouldn't mind it, Miss. Should I decide to camp there or elsewhere, I'll be glad to tell you of it.

Maybe we could go camping together for a little while. [And scare the crap out of Grune's housemates when she forgets to tell them where she's gone.]

[ For as nice as company sound right now, it... would most like defeat the purpose. ]

My apologies, but this is a thing I must do on my own.

It is a long tale and I'm afraid it is one I must keep to myself, Miss.

[And now she's concerned.] Is it because you're feeling sad?

... Sadness, loneliness. There is quite a bit of things that weigh upon my heart, but it is not the full reason why I must keep all that bears my tracks and will bear them henceforth in my own mind.

Oh, if something is the matter, you should tell someone. Then you'll feel better.

I do wish it were possible, but I'm afraid my only confidant must be my dear companion, Sam. It is not for personal reasons, but instead for reasons of secrecy that are tied to my journey.

I'm glad you have a friend to talk to. It's always good to share the sad times as well as the happy times with your friends.

Sam is my dearest friend... there is much I could not do without him at my side. There are many injuries I feel he's suffered for me sake and I have no shown him my gratitude as I should have.

Don't worry. I'm sure he knows what's in your heart.

I hope... such grief I have caused him. Poor, dear Samwise, he has cried many tears for my sake and from my tongue being far too sharp for his kindness.

Hmm.... [That didn't sound quite right.] Maybe you should tell him "I'm sorry" when you see him again, to make sure you both understand each other.

I hope... I hope that I still have a chance to ease him of his tears and let him know he is always my dear friend.
